What's in This Collection & How to Use It
- Long-Fiber Sphagnum Moss — The gold standard for air layering, prop boxes, and moss pole wrapping. Holds moisture without going anaerobic, making it ideal for initiating roots on monsteras, hoyas, pothos, and orchids. Also excellent as a top layer in terrariums and vivarium builds.
- Chunky Coco Chips — A coarse, sustainable alternative to bark for semi-hydro and chunky aroid mixes. Use as the base of your propagation mix for philodendrons, anthuriums, and epiphytes that need structure and drainage. Naturally resists compaction and mold.
- Horticultural Coarse Sand — Essential for rooting succulents, cacti, Sansevieria, ZZ plants, Dracaena, and begonias. Mix into any substrate to dramatically improve drainage and prevent rot. Also used in bonsai mixes, cactus blends, and as a rooting medium for stem and leaf cuttings.
- Air Matrix Aroid Substrate — An ultra-open, chunky substrate engineered for maximum oxygen at the root zone. Designed for aerial-rooting aroids like monstera, rhaphidophora, pothos, and hoya. Prevents root rot, promotes explosive root branching, and mimics the loose, bark-rich environment these plants grow in naturally.
- Volcanic Aqua Blend Stratum — A mineral-rich volcanic substrate that anchors roots, regulates moisture, and supports beneficial microbial colonies. Ideal for semi-hydro propagation, water-to-soil transitions, and as a drainage layer in pots. The porous volcanic particles hold nutrients and release them slowly — excellent for long-term plant health post-propagation.
- Premium Coarse #2 Perlite — The universal propagation amendment. Add to any mix to prevent compaction, boost drainage, and increase aeration. Works in every propagation style: soil, semi-hydro, sphagnum, or custom blends. Especially effective for rooting cuttings faster by keeping the medium light and oxygenated.
